- C.M.J. versus Michael Kleinfelder: Represented Plaintiff to obtain one of the highest jury verdicts for an individual victim of sexual abuse in Washington State history. Jury awarded Plaintiff $1,270,000 following three-week trial. Defendant denied any and all wrongdoing at trial.
- Estate of Dorothy Doe v. Nursing Home: Represented Plaintiff who obtained $443,000 settlement where the nursing home abused and neglected Plaintiff. This case represented the first known case of retroactive application of the Washington Vulnerable Adult Statute after its recent amendment in May 2007. (Confidential Settlement).
- John Doe v. Seattle Tavern: Represented Plaintiff who suffered severe leg injuries as a result of a drunk driver. Because the drunk driver had minimal insurance, the Dearie Law Group filed suit against the Seattle Tavern for over-service of alcohol. Plaintiff obtained settlement of $850,000 at mediation.
- Jane Doe v. Kitsap County: Representing Plaintiff who obtained settlement in excess of $300,000 from multiple defendants for sexual abuse and negligent supervision. This award does not include over $67,000 in penalties assessed against Kitsap County for concealing documents.
- Ferguson v. Jones: Co-counsel representing Plaintiff who obtained insurance limits of $250,000 following private arbitration. Plaintiff was injured as a result of road rage while riding his motorcycle on Interstate 90.
- Estate of John Doe: Represented Plaintiff in one of Washington’s largest Trusts and Estate litigation cases where client received more than $8,000,000 following two-day mediation.
- Hodges v. John Does: Co-counsel representing Plaintiff who was injured in two moderate rear-end motor vehicle accidents. Plaintiff settled for more than $700,000 at mediation after bad faith insurance practices were alleged.
- Siverton v. Nursing Home: Represented Plaintiff who was awarded $2,360,000 in private jury trial where nursing home was unwilling to pay more than $200,000 at mediation. Confidential settlement occurred after jury award.
- Estate of Austin: Represented Plaintiff in will contest following suspicious death of sister. Confidential six-figure settlement following mediation and allegations of undue influence by alleged neighbors and friends of elderly cancer patient.
- Jane Doe v. National Corporation: Co-counsel representing Plaintiff who suffered severe brain injuries when struck by motor vehicle while crossing against signal in marked intersection. Pre-filing mediation resulted in settlement in excess of $1,000,000.
- Blakey v. Snohomish County: Representing two police officers in two-week Snohomish County jury trial where police officers allegedly committed excessive force and false arrest against a wealthy Continental Airlines Pilot. Both police offers were absolved of all wrongdoing.
- Marzolf v. Snohomish School District, et al: Snohomish County jury found bus driver liable for negligence and awarded damages in excess of $100,000. Represented municipal agency that jury found not liable for engineering negligence.
- Swank v. Duffy: Obtained defense verdict for client, Jim Duffy, who was acting as volunteer for the Snohomish County Search and Rescue Team after a fellow member of the Team was critically injured after his rappelling harness malfunctioned. Plaintiff obtained a six-figure settlement against the harness manufacturer, Choinard, who was forced into bankruptcy following case. Also successfully represented Jim Duffy in multiple challenges on appeal.
- Plaintiff v. City of Sultan: Represented Plaintiff in one-week trial in which Plaintiff was awarded $375,000 following unlawful police pursuit in contribution action.
- Calhoun v. Casey: Represented police officer in one week trial in which the officer was accused of various civil rights violations following arrest of Plaintiff for DUI. After deliberations, Deputy Casey was found not liable for all allegations.
